The character of the area
Amathus runs east from Limassol along the old coast road, anchored by the archaeological site that gives it its name. Because much of the land was developed as low-rise resorts and villas, streets are wide, planting is mature and building heights stay modest.
It is quieter than the marina district and greener than the new high-rise seafront, while remaining ten minutes from both.
Getting around
Amathus is a driving neighbourhood with good motorway access, and short journeys to almost everything.

Higher education is represented by Cyprus University of Technology in the city centre and a number of private universities.
Everyday life
Practical needs are covered locally: two large supermarkets, pharmacies, a medical centre and a cluster of tavernas along the old road. For dining beyond that, the marina and the old town are a short drive, and the seafront promenade running west from Amathus is continuous for several kilometres — usable at seven in the morning in July, which matters more than it sounds.

Stock is a mix of 1990s–2000s villas, resort apartments and a small number of recent boutique developments. New low-rise buildings on garden plots are the scarce product here, because the land parcels that support them rarely come to market.
