Ekali sits on the rising ground north of central Limassol, between Ayios Athanasios and the ridge that carries the motorway. It was laid out as a family suburb and still reads that way: wide plots, quiet streets and gardens that predate the buildings around them.
The appeal is elevation. From the upper streets the city reads as one continuous line of sea, and evening temperatures run noticeably lower than on the coast.

The character of Ekali
This is a walking-the-dog neighbourhood rather than a nightlife one. Streets are residential end to end, with a small cluster of bakeries, a supermarket and neighbourhood tavernas serving the immediate area.
Because plots are generous, new development happens one plot at a time — small buildings of six to nine homes rather than towers, which keeps the skyline low and the streets quiet.
Getting around
Ekali's position is its practical argument: above the traffic, minutes from the motorway, and still inside the city.

Property character and value
Older stock is 1980s–2000s detached housing on large plots, much of it now being replaced by low-rise apartment buildings and terraced homes. Prices per square metre sit below the seafront but above the western suburbs, and the view premium is real on the upper streets.
